Sway Bars
When I first started as an intern at Hellwig Products, my primary responsibility was to reverse engineer OEM sway bars to create CNC bent versions of various diameters. I designed and manufactured numerous sway bars. The one pictured above is a bar I designed for a '67 Ford Mustang. It is tube bent on a CNC bender and has forged ends. The bar itself was reverse engineered from the factory bar and then modified. I had to develop a fixture to forge the ends along with a test fixture to insure each bar is manufactured to specification. The sway bar pictured below is an example of a hot forged 4140 steel bar I designed for a Toyota Tacoma. Along with these two examples I designed sway bars and other components for numerous vehicles including the Polaris RZR, Ford Excursion, Subaru BRZ / Toyota FRS, and many more.
